Yummy Fruit Scone

Yummy Fruit Scone

There is nothing quite like a scone that has just been freshly baked, and these straightforward scones made with Bisquick are some of the best that can be found. They are delicious on their own or with a dab of butter or some jam because they are tender and have a hint of sweetness. The vanilla bean glaze is the finishing touch that truly elevates these scones to an entirely new level. Think of it as the icing on the cake. This recipe is so easy to follow that even someone who has never baked before should have no trouble following it. In the event that there are any extras, they can be easily stored in the freezer for later consumption. It doesn't matter if you're throwing a tea party or just looking for a tasty snack; these fruit scones are sure to be a hit no matter the occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp chilled cubes of unsalted butter (pea-sized)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup fresh berries

Instructions

  • Pre heat the oven to 400°F.
  • Use baking spray to coat an uncoated baking sheet, preferably one without sides.
  • Mix the sugar and Bisquick biscuit mix together in a sizable mixing dish.
  • When the mixture is crumbly, incorporate the cold butter into it using a pastry blender or two forks.
  • Add all the remaining ingredients and mix with a fork until a soft dough forms.
  • You might need to use clean hands to complete bringing the dough together.
  • The dough should be rolled out and pressed into circles on a floured surface.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut the disc into sizable scones.
  • After cutting the scones into wedges, gently arrange them on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving some space between each one for spreading.
  • Bake the scones on the baking sheet for 18 to 20 minutes or until they are baked through and have a light golden color.
  • The scones should be taken out of the oven when still warm and placed on a wire rack to cool thoroughly.
  • Make the glaze while the scones are cooling.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk until a thick, smooth glaze forms.
  • Spoon the glaze onto the top of each scone after it has cooled.
  • Allow the glaze to rest for a while so that it can somewhat harden.
