Grandma's Baked Beignets

Grandma's Baked Beignets

There are primarily two methods—baking and frying—that can be used to make beignets at home: the first method is the baking method, and the second method is the frying method. Baking beignets are the best option for people who want a version that is higher in sugar content and contains less grease than the traditional version of beignets. Beignets that have been baked come out airy and light, and they have a subtle sweetness that makes them suitable for either breakfast or dessert. Fried beignets, despite the fact that they are undeniably delicious, can be on the hefty and greasy side, which is something that many people try to avoid doing because of the potential negative health effects. In addition, frying can make the kitchen extremely messy, which can be difficult to clean up after. If you're looking for a method of preparation that takes less time than frying beignets, baking is the option you should go with. Beignets baked in the oven come out light and airy. Beignets that are produced by the oven come out perfectly baked and are sure to be enjoyed by everyone. The oven does an excellent job producing these beignets. Because of the way they are prepared, these beignets are sure to win the favor and affection of the people who try them.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Bisquick
  • cup milk
  • oil
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp salt

Instructions

  • With a fork, combine the milk and Bisquick in a large bowl until it thoroughly mixed.
  • Create a soft dough ball, and then knead it several times on a level surface that has been lightly dusted with flour.
  • Roll the dough out from the center after first flattening it with your hands. Do not make the dough too thin.
  • The dough should be divided into strips and then squares. The squares can be as large as you like, but the size of the saucepan to be used should be considered.
  • Heat about two cups of oil in a saucepan over high heat.
  • Since the cooking process happens quickly, drop the dough pieces into the heated oil four at a time.
  • Prepare a platter and some powdered sugar to go with the browned fritter.
  • The beignets cook quickly, so you must keep a close eye on them.
  • Dust them with powdered sugar and serve!
