I truly enjoy preparing pizza, whether it’s for my family, friends or neighbors. It’s a great way to get everyone involved in the entire cooking process.Lately, I find it much easier to have the dough made ahead of time and every one can help themselves to the toppings to create their own pizza. If it’s a nice day, then sometimes we will choose to throw the pizzas on the grill (not literally). The grill gives the pizzas a nice smoky taste and takes a fraction of the cooking time as opposed to baking it in the oven.
Place two cups of warm water into a bowl and add two tea spoons of white sugar and stir until dissolved. Lightly mix in two tea spoons of instant yeast and set aside for approximately ten minutes.
In a stand mixer, using the dough mixer attachment, blend four cups of Bisquick and one teaspoon of salt.
Pour the yeast mixture into the Bisquick and set the speed to medium mixing until a soft ball of dough forms.
Place the dough onto a lightly Bisquick floured surface and knead until the dough becomes elastic-like.
Place the dough in a large lightly greased bowl and let rise for forty-five minutes, covered with a clean towel.
Separate the dough in four equal sections and prepare your pizza.
Once you have greased your pizza pan, sprinkle with cornmeal before placing the pizza dough on it.
This will make four medium size pizzas depending on the desired thickness. Freeze any leftover dough and use for another time.
