Swedish Meatballs

I make these at least once a month. They remind me of the ones at the Ikea restaurant. They just need the lingonberry sauce.

Ingredients
  

Meatballs

  • ½ cup Bisquick
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup onion, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp HP sauce
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 large eggs

Gravy

  • 2 tbsp Bisquick
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • ¼ cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine two pounds of ground beef and one half of a cup of Bisquick. Add one half of a cup of breadcrumbs, one half of a cup of minced onion, two cloves of minced garlic, one-half teaspoon of ground allspice, one teaspoon of salt, one teaspoon of pepper, one half of a cup of milk and one teaspoon of HP sauce. Stir all ingredients and add two eggs mixing until well incorporated.
  • Preheat the oven to four hundred degrees and grease a baking sheet.
  • Roll the meat into one inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for twenty minutes while preparing the gravy.
  • In a large skillet, melt two tablespoons of butter. Add two tablespoons of Bisquick, whisking until well combined. Stir in one and one-half cups of beef broth and bring to a simmer. Add one quarter of a cup of whipping cream and reduce the heat, stirring until the gravy thickens.
  • Add the cooked meatballs and season with one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of pepper.
  • Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!
