Easy Bisquick Beignets Fries

If you've ever been to New Orleans, there's a good chance that you've been able to sample a beignet or two during your time there.These fried doughnuts, with their powdered sugar coating, are a well-liked sweet treat in this part of the country. But if you're looking for something that's not quite as likely to get all over your clothes, you should give beignet fries a shot instead of regular french fries. These bite-sized pieces of fried dough are coated in the same scrumptious powdered sugar coating, and in addition to that, they are crispy, making them an excellent choice for dipping because they hold their shape well. To really take things to the next level and impress people, dipping them in chocolate is the way to go. Believe us when we say that despite their appearance, they are even tastier than they first appear. Try these beignet fries the next time you have a craving for something sweet, especially if you have one because they are sure to satisfy that craving. They will undoubtedly satisfy that hunger; there is no doubt about it. You should not expect to be let down in any way, shape, or form.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Bisquick
  • ¼ cup water
  • olive oil
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Mix the Bisquick and water in a mixing bowl.
  • Continue mixing until the dough is formed.
  • With a cutter, cut the dough into strips that are approximately a quarter of an inch wide.
  • Drop the cut dough into hot oil in a saucepan.
  • Fry the beignet fries in tiny batches, turning them over as you go.
  • Drain on paper towels once golden brown.
  • Serve warm with chocolate dipping sauce and top with powdered sugar.
